Multiple projects underway in New London village
Various projects are taking shape around New London as summer arrives.
New fencing around the village water plant is slated for installation in June, a written report submitted to the New London Village Council at its most recent meeting stated.
Village administrator Shaw Pickworth provided all details ahead of the June session. Some highlights:
-- Crews are clearing the pathway for the new fencing, which includes removing trees and an old fence on the backside of the lagoons. A preconstruction meeting for the project was held on June 4.
-- Regarding storm sewers, crews are continuing to work on the North Main Street to East Washburn Street storm replacement project as their schedule permits.
In other water-related work, crews installed two new mainline valves at East Washburn Street and West Hooker Street. The village continues to explore funding options to address an erosion issue at its raw water pump station.
For wastewater projects, the arrival of supplies for storm structures and piping for the New London Avenue project was imminent.
Columbia Gas conducted potholing in areas of potential conflict, identifying and documenting two such areas.
