Willard Reservoir filled to full mark
The Willard Reservoir has reached its full level, City Manager Bryson Hamons detailed in his report to the Willard City Council earlier this week.
"The water department has completed replenishing the reservoir as it has been topped off at 942' [feet] above sea level," he wrote. "Every winter when conditions are correct, water is pumped from the West Branch of the Huron River into the reservoir."
The water department completed its annual winter pumping cycle, transferring 484.544 million gallons of water from the West Branch of the Huron River into the reservoir.
In his March 17 update, Hamons noted a contractor has been hired to dredge the inlet to remove sediment and debris from the river intake. This maintenance takes place approximately every 15 years.
