Willard council to consider ordinance, resolution at upcoming session
Willard City Council is scheduled to hear a second reading of a proposed ordinance and vote on a regional hazard plan when it meets at 7 p.m. July 21, in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 631 S. Myrtle Avenue.
The agenda lists Ordinance No. 6007-25 for its second reading. The ordinance addresses the editing and inclusion of items, as well as the adoption of new material, in the city’s updated and revised codified ordinances. It also allows for the repeal of conflicting ordinances and resolutions.
The council is also expected to vote on Resolution No. 2635-25 of the city of Willard, which would adopt the Huron County 2025 Multijurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan.
Among other business, Willard City Manager Bryson Hamons is also scheduled to deliver a report. It traditionally explains the proposed legislation being presented to the seven-member council and provides updates on municipal government projects and other community efforts and activities.
Reports from officers include the finance director’s report for June 2025, covering the monthly cash reconciliation, pooled cash report, fund balance report, treasurer’s report, budget report, and income tax receipt summary.
Committee reports are scheduled from Willard City Council members:
-- Charter/legislative: (Jacob McKenzie, Chuck Danhoff)
-- Finance: (Diana Olson, David Sattig)
-- Public Works: (Alan Babcock, Joseph Daniel)
-- Safety: (Babcock, Daniel and Olson)
