June 11
8:34 a.m. Officer reported assisting squad personnel with an ill female at an E. Main St. residence. Patient was transported.
7:31 a.m. Officer reported conducting a welfare check at a First St. residence. Everything checked OK.
June 10
8:17 p.m. Officer on patrol located an E. Washburn St. resident with an active warrant out of this agency. The male who was mowing, briefly fled before surrendering. He was taken into custody and transported to the Huron County Jail without incident.
6:54 p.m. Officer reported providing a civil standby at an E. Main St. residence.
4:28 p.m. A Grove St. complainant reported receiving a scam call.
2:59 p.m. Officer responded to a W. Washburn St. residence for a possible overdose. Upon officer’s arrival, she was alert and talking to EMS. She refused transport and was released into the care of a family member.
8:38 a.m. Complainant reported a reckless operator who caused him to ditch his vehicle in the area of State Route 60 and Township Road 126. He was instructed to contact the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office for proper jurisdiction should he need to file a crash report.
June 9
7:50 p.m. Officers responded to a Clifton St. residence for an intoxicated suicidal subject. The resident was transported for further care.
2:59 p.m. Officer reported conducting a funeral escort.
11:22 a.m. Officer reported making notification to an Aster Ct. resident.
(time being verified) A White Ave. complainant reported a dog at large. The dog was captured and placed into the department kennel. It was later picked up.
June 8
6:16 p.m. Officer reported assisting squad personnel with a Windy Acres resident who had fallen. Patient was transported.
6 p.m. Complainant reported repossessing two vehicles from a N. Railroad St. residence.
4:59 p.m. Officer initiated a traffic stop along S. Main and Prospect St. for a registration violation. Citation issued.
4:01 p.m. Officer initiated a traffic stop south of the village on State Route 60 for speeding. Warning given.
June 7
7:23 p.m. An E. Fir St. complainant reported a vehicle had struck their mailbox and fled the scene. The vehicle was not located but described as a Ford truck.
4:35 p.m. Officers responded to the area of State Route 303 in Wakeman to assist deputies with a non-compliant male, refusing to exit a vehicle. The man was eventually taken into custody after a taser deployment and release of a K-9 unit.
3:56 p.m. Officer initiated a traffic stop along N. Main and Biglow Pkwy. for a registration violation. Citation issued.
3:40 p.m. Officer initiated a traffic stop along E. Main and Railroad Ave. for a registration violation. Warning given.
2:01 p.m. A N. Railroad St. complainant reported a large amount of dust covering his property due to the motocross track behind his residence.
1:32 p.m. Officer initiated a traffic stop along Park and Clyde Ave. for a registration violation. Citation issued.
12:59 p.m. Officer initiated a traffic stop along Park Ave. at the south limits for a registration violation. Warning given.
9:45 p.m. Complainant reported an unsecured door at a Park Ave. business. The premises was checked and secured. A call was placed to the business owner and a message was left.
12:37 a.m. Officer initiated a traffic stop along W. Main and Grant St. for an equipment violation. Warning given.
June 6 10 p.m. A Pearl St. complainant requested a welfare check on an ill neighbor. Everything checked OK.
7:26 p.m. Officer responded to a W. Washburn St. residence for a 911 hang-up call. It was determined to be accidental.
6:38 p.m. Officer initiated a traffic stop along W. Fir and Charles Pkwy. for a registration violation. Warning given.
5 p.m. Officer initiated a traffic stop along N. Main and Biglow Pkwy. for a registration violation. Warning given.
4 p.m. A motorist reported a bicyclist riding in a reckless manner, almost striking her vehicle in the area of Westwood Dr. and N. Main St. Contact was made with the male, who stated the brakes had failed.
2:54 p.m. Officer initiated a traffic stop along Prospect St. and Energy Pl. for a motorhome with an unsecured storage compartment door that was hanging out into the oncoming lane of traffic. Warning given.
