Willard sets multiple community cleanup events
The city of Willard is offering several opportunities for city residents to clean up around their houses during the week of April 21, more specifically, April 25 and April 26, the municipal government reports.
Here are the details as presented in a detailed written report to City Council from Willard City Manager Bryson Hamons:
-- Curbside Pickup (Monday, April 21 — Friday, April 25)
The city will be offering curbside pickup for any white goods (ex...stove, washers, dryers at no cost. Items containing freon or remnants of freon (refrigerator, freezers, and air conditioners) will be picked up at the curbside for a fee of $20. Residents will need to pre-pay at City Hall the week of April 21 for any appliances with freon.
-- Dumpster days (April 25, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.) and (April 26, 8 a.m. to noon)
The city emphasizes this is for Willard residents only:
Dumpsters will be placed on the corner of Myrtle and Woodland for city residents to dispose of their general trash (ex. attic/basement/garage material, furniture, TVs, etc.) No household garbage, construction material, landscape material, or trash from outside city limits will be taken.
-- Paint recycling (April 26, 9 a.m. to noon)
City residents may bring their unused latex paint to the Wastewater Treatment Plant (7 B&O Pike) for disposal. This is for Willard residents only and not commercial businesses.
-- Tire recycling (April 26, 9 a.m. to noon)
City of Willard residents may recycle any passenger or light truck tire at the Wastewater Treatment Facility (7 B&O Pike) for a small fee.
Residents are encouraged to pay the tire recycling fee at City Hall by April 25 at 4:30 p.m., if paying on Saturday, April 26, people must have the exact amount for payment as change cannot be made. Prices are $4 off the rim and $5 if the tire is still on the rim. No commercial businesses.
