Issues linked to power outage prompt New London schools closure

New London Local Schools will be closed Monday, May 12, following ongoing system issues caused by a recent power outage, the district announced in a social media post.
“We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to restore all systems,” the post on Sunday evening said, adding that families with questions should contact the district office.
The district cited "lingering system failures caused by a power outage," in its update Sunday evening.
The school district campus off Wildcat Drive includes all grade levels in New London.
While students will have the day off, staff members are expected to report on a two-hour delay. The district confirmed that the 8th grade trip to Washington, D.C. will continue as scheduled.
