Gunfire into vehicle during New London disturbance
A firearm was discharged into an occupied vehicle during a disturbance near Shadyside Avenue and West Main Street that led to the arrest of a man, New London police said Friday.
No injuries were reported in the April 24 incident. Officers responded to the scene at 5:37 p.m. following a report of a man with a gun.
The New London Police Department and a Huron County Sheriff’s deputy sheriff were dispatched to the area on a report of a disturbance involving a man with a gun.
The suspect was arrested on aggravated menacing, village police said.
"Additional charges were later filed after it was discovered the firearm had been discharged into an occupied vehicle at the scene," New London police said in an initial update.
Circumstances leading to the incident are not immediately known along with the type of gun.
The case remains under investigation and is an active case, police report. The suspect's name is pending confirmation.
